How It All started

The Miracle Kids Who Started it All

Race for the Kids was born from a place of empathy, resilience, and the unwavering determination of two friends, Jackie Cousino and Tara Stubleski. Their journey began in the midst of personal hardship when both Jackie and Tara found themselves navigating the challenging terrain of having a child with a severe or life-threatening illness. Amidst the uncertainty and emotional upheaval of hospital stays, treatments, and endless worries, they discovered an unexpected source of strength: their community.

In those difficult times, their community rallied around them with unwavering support, offering a lifeline of kindness, compassion, and practical assistance. Moved by this outpouring of solidarity, Jackie and Tara were inspired to pay it forward. They recognized a pressing need to extend this same support to other families facing similar circumstances. Thus, the seeds of Race for the Kids were sown.

Fuelled by their shared experiences and a deep-rooted desire to make a difference, Jackie and Tara embarked on a mission to create a support network for families navigating the challenging journey of caring for a child with a serious illness. With the firm belief that no family should face such trials alone, they set out to build a community where compassion and understanding flourished.

Race for the Kids quickly gained momentum, attracting like-minded individuals eager to contribute their time, resources, and expertise to the cause. Through fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and community events, they worked tirelessly to raise funds, offer emotional support, and provide practical assistance to families in need.

Today, Race for the Kids stands as a testament to the power of friendship, resilience, and collective action. What began as a personal journey of hardship has blossomed into a beacon of hope and solidarity for families across the community. Thanks to the vision and dedication of all those involved, Race for the Kids continues to shine brightly, offering solace, support, and a sense of belonging to all those who need it most.
